Some History of Left Lane Driving
& Keeping it Simple

Honda Motor Company was started in 1948 by a Japanese mechanic named Soichiro Honda. Soichiro Honda was a businessman, manufacturer and a racer. During WorldWar II, gasoline was severely restricted creating transportations issues for Soichiro and thousands of others. Looking for a way around this problem, Honda developed a way to attach two-stroke motors used to power generators to a bicycle. The Honda Motorcyle was born. Honda Motor Company went on the become the largest motorcycle manufacturer by 1963.

Honda Expands - 1957

In 1957 Honda had already expanded more and added additional engineers with the purpose of creating a Honda Car line. The first cars out of production were the S500 and the T360 which Honda unveiled in mid 1962. The car that marked Honda as a serious car manufacturer was the Honda Civic. First produced in 1973, the Civic was a compact car that offered fuel efficiency and still had enough room to fit 4 passengers comfortably. Honda quickly gained a reputation of reliability and innovation. They continued to produce and excel through the 1980's with the Honda Accord being voted America's Most Popular Car. Honda was also the first Japanese Auto maker to introduce a luxury line called Acura.

Honda Innovation

Honda has continued their innovation introducing SUVs and Minivans as well as being the first auto maker to introduce a hybrid vehicle in the United States.
